Paws with Pride
Wednesday 25th July
Paws with Pride, Northern Pride's popular family pet spectacular returns to Leazes Park ,on Sunday 29 July 11.30pm to 4.30pm. This year Paws is introducing ‘gay walkies’ - their very own Pride Parade for dogs. 'Gay walkies' will raise much needed funds for Guide Dogs and there will be rosettes for the most colourfully dressed dogs taking part and every dog taking part will receive a special Paws with Pride certificate. So 'rainbow up' your Rottweiler, camp up your chihuahua and make this a dog walk to remember! Gay Walkies sets off at 12.00 midday.
As always there’s a fun dog show with ‘prettiest bitch’, ‘cutest expression’, ‘waggiest tail’, ‘feeliest fur’ and even the ‘most butch or camp dog in fancy dress’. For our cat lovers we have ‘show us your kitties’, our bonny cat photo competition.
For the kids there is a mini zoo with rabbits, guinea pigs, a bouncy slide, carousel and other rides, pony rides, alpacas, Shetland ponies – even a reptile house. You can even take a horse drawn carriage around beautiful Leazes Park and the amazing NORTH NORTHUMBERLAND DOG TRAINING CLUB DISPLAY TEAM will be doing agility and also a Flyball competition and there will be some amazing birds of prey. There’s so much to do for everyone!
