About the event
Queer Youth Music is a free, creative meet-up for LGBTQIA+ Musicians and Aspiring Producers aged 12-18. Led by LGBTQIA+ Arts Charity Curious Arts with support from Youth Music and Northern Pride, the group meet every Tuesday evening to spend time with fellow music fans and learn more about working in the music industry.
Led by Singer, Songwriter & Producer Melanie Baker and Theatre Maker Izaak Gledhill, Queer Youth Music sessions provide a safe space and creative outlet for LGBTQIA+ young people to explore their passion for music. Whether developing their songwriting skills, having a jam session, working directly with professional musicians or learning what it takes to produce exciting music events and festivals!
The group meet at Dance City in Newcastle and young people are welcome to join anytime - we’re always on the lookout for new band members!
