What is your role within Northern Pride and what does that entail?

I am the Market Stall Manager. I work alongside potential traders and companies as well as returning stall holders. I ensure we can generate a healthy income from our Rainbow Village to help with the funding of the Northern Pride Festival. I make sure we have a diverse mix of traders and companies to allow the festival goers exposure to businesses they may have otherwise dismissed and not engaged with. Over the festival weekend I work to ensure all stall holders are prepared, set up on time and generally well looked after.

What’s skills do you bring to the Northern Pride committee?

I have spent 10 years employed as a professional performer. With this I have travelled to many different countries, giving me the opportunity to meet people from all different cultures and backgrounds. This has given me the experience and ability to confidently meet and interact with the public.

I am currently a manager of a local bar and restaurant. In this environment, things can change at the drop of a hat, as can things within Northern Pride. This has given me the ability to adapt to my surroundings and manage the stresses which comes with planning and executing such events as the Northern Pride Festival.

I would also Like to think that I bring a little bit of fun, I love meeting people who attend the festival and spend 95% of my time at The Northern Pride Festival giving and receiving cuddles.

What’s your secret talent?

I have the ability to not be hungry yet eat 1,000,000,000 gold bars in less than 20 minutes.

What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?

I am not really a concert goer; however, I love love love a good old drag show. Shade Newcastle, the Christmas pants at the black cap and anything drag race related are my favourite things to do.

Saying that my cousins dragged me to a West life concert and that was an experience!

What do you enjoy the most about working within Northern Pride?

The team! They are some of the most beautiful people I have met, they’re so much fun to be around and some of the most passionate people I know.

Who or what inspires you and why?

I am inspired by people who never give up and regardless of the obstacles in their lives still smile, thrive and motivate. I often find that these traits are in abundance in my friendship groups and these are the people who inspire me.
