UK PRIDE LAUNCH

What a way to kick off UK PRIDE with our launch party.

This fundraising event featured BBC Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullogh, Drag Race icon Bimini, DJ Jodie Harsh, singer-songwriter Todrick Hall, and we don't think anyone was expecting that finale! WOW!

UK PRIDE MARCH

2022's March was based on our UK Pride Promise. Rememeber Resist and Rise Up for Trans Rights!

We were also joined by three Grand Marshalls who lead us through the city. Tim Sigworth, CEO of akt, marched for our young people at risk of homelessness or displacement. Caroline Paige Joint Chief Executive of Fighting with Pride marched for our LGBTQ+ veterans. Finally, Kristine Garina, co-president of the European Pride Organisers Association, marched for our community in Ukraine.

Directly behind them, and holding the UK Pride March Banner, our northeast trans community!

DAY TWO

After the March, everyone landed on the Town Moor to be greeted by our huge Festival Arena, including the biggest main stage we've ever built! Our best Be Scene tent, the best riders from Turners Funfair, alongside our brilliant bars and food vendors. Not forgetting all our market stall holders.

Over in the United as One Community Village, we had the return of the Curious Arts Stage, Family & Youth, Health and Wellbeing. New additions included Sports Zone and the LGBT Northern Social Group Zone.

DAY THREE

After a busy two days, our final day is relaxed with more local acts being showcased on the main stage and the Newcastle Mela joining us there and on the Curious Arts Stage and even in the Family and Youth Zone.

Day three ends with our Candlelit vigil, a moment to pause and reflect.
