GENERATIONS
We know that being an older person in the LGBTQ+ community isn't always easy.

Research completed by the International Longevity Centre UK, found that this part of our community are at risk of facing higher rates of loneliness and ill health, as well as facing prejudice.

A report from Stonewall showed that lesbian, gay and bi people over 55 are more likely to be single and live alone, and less likely to have children or regularly see family members. than their straight counterparts.

We know and appreciate that, for our elderly trans people, these challenges are increased especially when faced with misunderstanding around their identity when they need to access health and social care.

Our aim is to create a series of events and campaigns to support the over 55s and to work with other LGBTQ+ groups, like those similar to Age UK's True Colours group in Gateshead. We are waiting for the pandemic to end, ensuring that we keep our community safe. For now, we've focused our digital events and panel discussion, but we cant wait to get back to in-person events.
