WELCOME TO
THE ARENA
We’re incredibly excited to be back at Central Park we were here last in 2021 where we delivered our Covid Safe event, broadcasting our Digital Pride content in 2021.
This time, the Northern Pride Arena takes shape with an impressive stage for live performances from big names and local stars.
WELCOME TO
THE CITY
Under the theme “unapologetically visible” the aim now is to bring over 80,000 people to Newcastle during the Pride weekend, by bringing all the festival favourites right into the heart of the city.
Our mission is clear. We’re using our festival to highlight the vibrant and beautiful queer community, the valuable impact they have on society and the richness of their talents, from makers and creators, to performers and activists,
PRIDE IN THE CITY
OFFICIAL VENUES
Saturday 20th from 12pm til 5pm
MARKET VILLAGE
Grey's Monument & Old Eldon Square, Blackett Street
Greys Monument has become a place for modern protests and activism. It is a symbol to the people of our region that change can be made even when it seems impossible to do so. This fight and determination was key in Grey’s introduction of The Great Reform Act 1832.
It makes perfect sense to bring our Market Village to this area. Our stalls are filled with community groups, charities, and our amazing makers and creators, many of which use their work and their art to improve the lives of our community.
THE MARCH
Saturday 20th from 12pm
Civic Centre, Barras Bridge
In 2023, even despite the rain over 15,000 people marched, weaving through the city, down the iconic Northumberland Street and passed the historic Grey’s Monument.
The city becomes awash with all the colours of the rainbow. In 2022, the march was led by the trans community and marched for Trans rights and our campaign of Remember, Resist, Rise Up! Last year, young people and educators lead to mark 20 years since the repeal of Section 28. This year our theme is to be unapologetically visible.
CANDLELIT VIGIL
Sunday 21st from 9pm - Free Access
Northern Pride Arena, Central Park, Times Square
Northern Pride's Pride in the City comes to a close on Sunday night with the annual Candlelit Vigil that takes place immediately after the last act on our new stage at the Northern Pride Arena, Central Park at Times Square. Whilst tickets are needed for the arena, the vigil will be free and gates will open 10 minutes before the start for none ticket holders to arrive.
This is an important part of the Northern Pride Festival, giving those in attendance time for reflection and remembrance.

PARTICIPATING VENUES
With our ambition to be unapologetically visible across the city, we’d love more venues, community groups and business to get involved.
You might be a restaurant, bar, library, community centre or cultural venue looking to engage with the LGBTQIA+ community, we can help.
